The Challenge
The space was to function as equal parts bar, venue and catering company. Our team needed to create an identity system that spoke to each leg of the business while still feeling unified, romantic and luxurious.
The Solution
OK Studio drew inspiration from the landscape and visuals of the American West, peppering in Art Deco motifs that speak to the architectural era of the neighborhood. The modular identity system assigned a distinct color palette and logo to differentiate the businesses housed under the West name. Upon opening West was written up as a must-go by multiple local publications including the Willamette Week, Eater, Portland Mercury, and Portland Monthly.

From the high desert to the windswept coastline.

The imagery contained in the West logo connects the establishment to the landscape in which it has been founded. Each section of the totem provides a vignette of a distinct natural environment. These individual pieces work together as well as separately to represent the bar, venue and catering services they provide to their clientele.
